In my eyes, art is a form of expression and creativity that cannot be criticized as right or wrong, but is open to interpretation to anyone willing to give it a chance. I choose to do the work I do in order to make a point of myself and demonstrate ideas that one can only fully understand visually. Improvement is my most important goal, and learning new techniques to show in my work is always intriguing. Another goal of my artwork is to make it appealing to various groups of people, no matter what age group, gender, or personal hobbies.
Almost every artist has a different approach of their work. Over my years of working with art, I have noticed that I tend to draw numerous sketches until I have a clear concept, in which I sketch a second time with more detail. Following my sketching, I start planning the placement of objects, whether with clay or in drawings, until finally I am confident enough with my idea to start the final project. During the time of producing the final piece or drawing, difficulties or simply new inspirations usually cause me to tinker with my original design, therefore most of my finished products are not the same as my previous vision.
My current work includes concepts from personal drawings I do, as well as new inspirations I encounter daily, such as a photograph or a song I hear during the day. Most recently I have been experimenting with how far I could push the clay to more difficult forms. This has been more challenging to me but has also resulted in the finding of my artistic style. I try to incoroporate different aspects and themes through the varying colors and forms I produce. I hope that in the future I can determine a style in which I can be consistent with.
